Description
Vehicle overview
This 1969 Mercury Cougar was specified from the factory in Bright Blue Metallic with a color-coordinated interior, the Eliminator Package, heavy-duty suspension, and power steering and front disc brakes. Originally powered by an M-code 351ci V8 linked to an FMX automatic, the car was retrofitted with a 428ci V8 and a C-6 automatic by a previous owner before 2018, and it was cosmetically refurbished as well. 15″ American Racing wheels, headers, an Edelbrock intake manifold, and Cobra-script finned valve covers were also added. The seller purchased the car in 2019 and has since added approximately 300 miles. This 428-powered Cougar Eliminator is now offered with a Deluxe Marti Report, a window sticker, spare parts, and a Arizona title in the seller’s name.Introduced in 1969, the Eliminator included a blacked-out front grille, a black front air dam, a body-color hood scoop, a left-side racing mirror, reflective side stripes, XR-7 rocker-panel moldings, a body-color rear wing, stiffer springs, and a larger diameter anti-roll bar up front. They were only offered in four colors, and this example was specified in Bright Blue Metallic and was repainted at some point before 2018.
